CMP Main Title

Just a comparison between the game and the title of the movie... Trying to be as faithful as possible to the original.

Iluminando personajes (Character Lighting)

One of the challenges I face when recording is lighting.

Since I have chosen this project only with a smartphone, one of the limitations that I found was the lack of adjustment when taking pictures, so to achieve an acceptable quality I must at least enlighten the best possible my characters and scenarios.

In these examples we see a character on a green chroma background to contrast their colors when embed it on stage. In the first example we see that is illuminated with a major cold tungsten light that also throws light background and being diffused light shadows cast are soft and faded so it will help us in making the chroma postproduction. In the other cases were added fill lights on both sides to try to give it a yellowish or reddish light reflected by the environment (torches in this case). The fill lights are but a small LED candles that change color so I can choose the tone you want to give light depending on which environment this my character. And last comment that one of the functions that have these candles is that apart from the low consumption (x 2 x 1.5 V AA) is that they are controlled by a remote control can change the color as just discussed and even change the light illumination mode set to flickering candle making if a light even more realistic.

Capture Screen Book

For just as the name suggests is a "book" where I've been saving screenshots in the game ... this will help me to make reference to when playing the different scenarios as well as the characters trying to keep higher fidelity of the game.

Envejecer con oxido (Aging with rust)

To achieve the appearance of rust in our scenes I was reporting on the Internet about how I could do it ... and as paintings and we say "incompatible" found the solution in model shops.

It is a product composed of 3 components that once mixed and applied on the surface we want "oxidize" gives a quite convincing results. The brand is "Deluxe materials" and "ointment" in question is called "Scenic Rust", this brand also has other products to create snow, ice, rust ....

Como simular nieve en nuestra escena (How simulate Snow at our scenes)

One effect I've always wanted to integrate some of my scenes is the artificial snow ...

There are many ways to achieve the effect and that is convincing ... but one that I have been more satisfied and for which I opted to employ been using a product called "Instant Snow" which as its name indicates creates instant snow.

This are polymers that really is what is in the diaper babies, once you pour water they increase in second in size to 100 times absorbing the entire amount of water and solidifying into small particles that happen to be almost accurate to the texture nine sought. And even touch is cold and wet as it snow .... but you can not get accomplished.!

In the network can be found very easily at prices not too excessive so ... there are no excuses when creating snow in our scenes!

PS Actions & Batch

They are one of the fundamental tools of Photoshop when editing your images in an efficient and fast way ... so just about to modify or edit a picture ... burn while and once finished applying all these changes to multiple files ... usually this does not makes perfect sense but when we talk about Stop Motion because if we want to modify an image have to repeat it in the rest of the sequence ...

There are many plugins for video editors who correct us the color or appearance of cinema give our videos but this way I explain is unlimited when creating a specific effect to a scene

This time I show the video tutorial to make it look like 1 the desired effect is created, in this case we give darker and contrasted aspect ... we correct light ... while we do the "recorded" creating a new Action PS, once finished we will have engraved with a name and assigned to a key if you did previously ...

We just going to Automate / Batch choose the newly created effect (action) and apply it to a sequence of images in a folder ... we saved in the folder you indicate and ..Ready! our sequence of images edited to be edited!

This time I dare to one effect I've always wanted to do and more ... I liked the use of particles, fluid and dynamic computer generated. Current 3D programs not only serve to model or animate it as one enters increasingly in them realize the endless possibilities offered ... and one of these is the fact recreate and produce effects so far only achieved with traditional special effects.

In this case it is "add" torches to our scene .... Until now the most common form would have manage to get some small candles or torches tiny lights ... But that is no longer necessary since years ago and there are companies that dedicate all their efforts to develop virtual appliances that generate heat, liquids, fumes or what we want to imagine ... in my case it is a plugin for 3DStudio MAX (program I use to model and animate) called FumeFX ... the possibilities of this application are incredible as fire and smoke generated are of a realism that does not look out of our scenes.

Let's description of the scene:

We have a scenario with fire (torches in this case ... could be a fireplace ... or candles ...) in the case of stop motion the first problem we encountered is that the lighting is uniform and candlelit room you could have a light well but torchlight not fluctuate and vary in size and beam.

After much thinking and brooding I made the decision while the scene is animated animate the light to fluctuate too ... like? For illuminating the scene with an additional candlelight to which I'll altering for your calls me random shadows projected rather than a fixed shade.

Once I have the scene that "flashes" is when I integrate this in the 3D program and will add the virtual fire light ... snapping the best possible place, I make some corrections of color ... I delete this and that and Voila! I think it is pretty close to what I seek.

Anyway this is my way of how I would do a scene integrating "virtual" fire with real elements
